Mama Moose and Kids Beat the Heat Wave and Have Fun Thanks to Kind Humans

One of the joys of summer is to mix a lawn sprinkler on a hot day. Alaska is not at all immune to heat waves, believe it or not, and in recent years, record temperatures in the Anchorage area have led to an extraordinary scene in the garden in front of a resident. Candice Helm, from Eagle River, saw a moose mother and her two children roaming the neighborhood. The three were panting, apparently having trouble coping with the unusually warm weather. It would have been easy enough for Candice to ignore them, perhaps telling herself, "Oh, I'm sure they'll be fine." Scaring the moose family was another option. But besides not being very useful, scaring moose might not have been a good idea. The moose belongs to the top of your list of animals so don't mess with them. Most often, the moose are placid herbivores who spend their days chewing bushes, mosses and other plants, just like deer. But if a moose gets angry or feels threatened, it can become aggressive and very dangerous. All the more if we talk about a moose mother who thinks her babies are in danger. Oh, and they can run at over 35 miles per hour: there's no escape from an angry moose. Candice has found the best solution of all. As he told a reporter from a local television station, "They just walked around the house and looked hot. So we turned on the sprinklers and were happy."
